Issue Position: Rural Development

Issue Position

Danny Britt worked hard to bring over $50 million in funding for local projects, including:

$6 million for the UNC Pembroke Business School
$7 million for Robeson Community College new constructions, repairs, and renovations.
$2.2 million for programs to reduce incidence of preterm birth and infant mortality.

One of the biggest reasons that Senator Britt ran for office is the continuing struggle facing rural North Carolina economies. Senator Britt, whose mother was a worker at DuPont manufacturing, has sponsored and fought for polices that change the county tier systems and the Job Development Incentive Grant to assist rural communities in attracting and retaining businesses of all sizes.

Senator Britt has been a strong voice for Robeson and Columbus Counties in the past two legislative sessions, securing funds for necessary repairs and revitalization efforts in small towns throughout his district:

Waccamaw Silicon Tribe Playground
Class Equipment for the Robeson County Career Center
St. Pauls downtown revitalization efforts
